Pondering Faith

A Proud Soccer Dad

I am proud of my son, D3. It’s toward the end of his second soccer season, and while he really enjoys running around, the little guy just didn’t seem to be getting the idea of the game. Saturday, though, he scored two goals! They were his first goals ever. While I was proud of the way he played, something else made me even more proud of him. Soon after D3’s goals, another boy on his team scored for the first time ever. D3 was more happy for him than he was for himself. D3 ran over to him and gave him a big hug and congratulated him. That was a moment that made me and Cindy proud. He is a very caring kid. Go D3!

Welcome to Pondering Faith! My name is Dan. I am a husband, father, and pastor. I serve as the Director of Church Development for the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. This is the place where I ponder all things related to faith, including church leadership, and life in general.
