Pondering Faith

A Normal Veteran’s Day?

Today seemed like any other day. If it weren’t for Daniel being out of school, it would not seem any different than any of my other days this week. It seemed like a normal Veteran’s Day. That is why Veteran’s Day is special. We can have normal days because of the sacrifices that our service men and women have made in order to protect our freedom.

So, today (and almost every day) I pause, and lift a prayer of peace and thanksgiving for the men and women who are serving our country.

Jonathan and Audra King were married about a month ago, and Jonathan deployed to Iraq soon after. Beginning a marriage can be challenging enough without having to begin it via satellite conversations. Their story is one of many today and throughout history. To Jonathan and Audra and families everywhere who have served and serve today, I say thank you. I am praying for you.
